Overview
Shiptrail shows the ships at sea right now on a map of the world, from the public position reports ships broadcast.
It runs in your web browser at shiptrail.io.

Shiptrail has no account and sets no cookies.
Your map settings. The layers and filters you choose are saved in your own browser, so the map looks the same next time. They are never sent to us.
Map images. To draw the map, your browser loads map pictures and the map library from other services, depending on the map style and layers you choose: CARTO, OpenStreetMap, OpenFreeMap, OpenSeaMap, RainViewer (weather), and Cloudflare’s cdnjs. Like any website your browser visits, they see your IP address when it asks them for a picture.
Ship data. The positions on the map come from public broadcasts made by ships. They are information about ships, not about you.
Hosting. Shiptrail is delivered by Cloudflare, which handles each request to show you the page.
